earthing of battery system

Hello,

I am working on a 3V powered system, which gets its supply from a 1/2AA 3V Battery. I would like the system to be protected against external surges through antenna.

So i want to earth the this Circuit by connecting the circuit ground to earth point. Here my question is will doing this have any adverse effect on the Battery Life.

Thanks in adavnce.

Gunjan

does not at all means, it will have no effect all at the battery life?

one more question that i have is that i want to have the lightining protection for my system which constitutes of a antenna. i have read somewhere that mounting a 1 k resistor between antenna and ground can cure the problem, is it true

is there any other possible solution for it

Yes Ian did mean no effect at all.

1k resistor can't solve the problem of lightining. The best solution is a lightning rod.
