I have a question about Eagle 6.1.0 in combination with Electra 2.9.3.

I want to work with ground planes on my PCB’s but I get a error (crash) with Electra 2.9.3. I try this on two systems 32 and 64 Bit with the same result.

This is what I do:

• I made a schematic in Eagle (for now only three components) with +5v, +12v and GND
• I create a board and place the components
• Then I run the ULP file from Electra: PCB_To_DSN_v6x.ulp and use the standard Eagle design file: default.dru . (I only change in de default.dru to use bottom layer 16)
• Then opens Electra Auto Router Setup and I change only the Layer Type into PwrGnd
• I save this DSN file and open it in Electra
• Electra immediately crashes and show this log file:

All I want is that Electra is routing my board with a ground plane / power plane

I can’t find on internet a solution for this. Attached are the files in zip format. (I made for this purpose a very simple schematic)

I really hope that someone is going to say to me, …. You have to change this and then it will work.

Fixed by myself :)

Route the board in Electra, import it back in Eagle and design a Polygon. All works :)

For me this is a very good workaround with the result what I want to have.
