Hi,

I have a very basic question regarding EAGLE.
I wanted tu use an SMD pad for my components, however the shape of the smd package is not standard.
Is there any way I can achieve such shape in EAGLE?
In this post, I also put the shape of the pad in the attachment.
If you have any idea to achieve this shape please give me some advices. Thanks.

Best regards,

Hi,

Either:
*make two rectangle pads and connect them in device (preferred)

or:
* Make one PAD and one top_layer_rectangle. Don´t forget cream and stop layers.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the answer, for the first option, how to make 2 pads into one pin? I have considered this option but I do not really understand how you can make 2 rectangle pad into one pin.

Best regards,

RH

Hi,

Let´s say initially this is one pad called "pad1"

Package:
Draw two SMD pads. Name the one "pad1a", the other "pad1b"

Symbol:
Nothing special. Let´s assume it´s signal name is "pinx"

Device:
when you do the connections:
Highlight two pads: "pad1a" and "pad1b" (at the same time)
Then select the pin "pinx"
Then press "connect".
finished.

--> both pads in package are connected to one pin in symbol.

Okay it really solve my problem. Thank you.

best regards,

RH
