Hello, I'm designing dynamic comparator for my project using SYNOPSYS Custom Designer. What type of "voltage sources" should I feed to the two input terminals?
The dynamic comparator is described as being particularly useful in ADC's (analog-to-digital converter). A common ADC method is to compare the incoming signal to the ramp-like waveform coming from a DAC fed from a binary counter. When the comparator changes state, the value in the counter is read and sent to the output.
