Hi,
What should be the duty cycle of an IR transmitter emitting square waves of say 10khz ?
how does duty cycle matter in communication ?
Any adjustments to be made in receiver module for a particular duty cycle?

Thanks

Fourier series

It has to do with the Fourier series. At 50% on-off the spectral component at the fundamental has the highest value for a given rectangle wave peak amplitude. This gives you the best signal to noise ratio for a receiver of the fundamental frequency.

Keep in mind that the Fourier analysis reveals what nature does and is not the cause of nature being what it is.
