Durability Testing of Stepper Motors

I have an Unipolar Stepper Motor, Is there any way to test the durability of the stepper motor ?

I would run it at maximum load for say 250 steps, then stop it then run it in reverse. it fails when either the motor does not start or it loses a pulse, so the rotor does not step to the correct position.
