Hi,
On our ofline flyback smps transformer, (PQ2020) we need a layer of
ten turns of 7/0.1mm TEX-ELZ triple insulated wire. The problem
is that its diameter is only 0.562mm. -As such, this wont fit evenly across the
full bobbin space, which is 12mm width. Therefore, we wish to parallel it with a strand of 0.4mm
enamelled copper wire. We will then simply only terminate the
0.4mm Enamelled copper wire at the "quiet" end (non switching end) of the secondary.
Do you see problems with this? I am thinking it will be just like
a shield winding, but without shielding anything...so therefore, harmless?

Also, what would you say about just not connecting either end of the "dummy" winding, and just leaving it floating in the transformer? Does that make a spiral antenna in the transformer and cause all manner of electrical noise malaise?
