Which DC motor should be used in dual converter using thyristors? It should be DC series or DC shunt motor? And Why?

It is irrelevant.

Series and shunt wound motors have very different torque/speed characteristics.
Therefore, the selection of either a series or shunt wound motor depends on the actual mechanical load being driven.

The best solution is a compound motor.
