DSP(TMS320C6711) interfacing OV7620 cmos sensor trough I2C

interfacing ov7620

Could somebody give me info about how to interface a DSP module (TMS320C6711) to the Omnision OV7620 image sensor (cmos sensor) through I2C bus (without using CPLD/FPGA)?

Do I have to write the C code for I2C or is a sample code somewhere that i can find and allter for the specific cmos sensor?

Hi LuCacos,

I have exactly the same project as you! Its very hard to find any information about the intefacing of the 6711 and the 7620.I think we have to use C to write the program for I2C waveform and implemented for the 6711 McBSPs...(The 6711 has no GPIOs right...?)I keep you posted if i come up with somthing...

Please if you find out how you do this, let me know.

DSP (TMS320C6711) interfacing OV7620 cmos sensor trough I2C

People i think somebody of you out there could help me so i am doing that post again.

I have dsp tms320c6711 which i want it to interface with omnivision's cmos sensor OV7620 which i want to control with I2C bus logic.

My infos:
I know that i have to implement I2C bus to altera's cpld flex10K as the certain dsp doesn't provide I2C pins, as it hasn't got cpld inside as TMS320c6713.
Also i know that i am going to alter McBSP to GPIO to connect i2c.

The questions are:
1. Where the 8+2 bits of sensor go on dsp?
2. How i connect the sensor with the cpld?
3. How i connect the cpld to dsp tms320c6711?

Any idea, anything related to these,anything that doesn't seems related could be some help.

So don't hesitate send some help.....

Don not make more than one thread for the same question.

Give links to detailed datasheets for the parts you are using. Maybe someone will look at it for you.
