An electrical signal with the spectrum extending from 10Hz to 1000Hz is recorded in a tape recorder at 10cm/sec and played back at 100cm/sec what would be the minimum sampling rate for the playback signal if we need to digitize the signal?

itsmeteja,
Since the playback speed is 10X the recording speed, the playback frequencies will be multiplied by 10. The highest playback frequecy of interest is now 10KHz. The sampling theorem states that the sampling rate must theoretically be 2 X 10KHz = 20 KHz minimum.

Kral
