Hi All,

what are the merits of each topology? Especially if I want to extend the DRO to become a Self-Osciallting Mixer.

Thanks in advance!

I sent you my answer.
For parallel use the Gaate line port as the LO port.

Thanks!

So far I gathered that series FB DRO is simpler.

Parallel FB DRO on the hand are reported to have lower phase noise, higher tuning bandwidth and higher efficiency due to the dual coupling. But they are harder to design.

Does anyone know the formulae for conversion gain for a SOM ultilising either the parallel or series FB DRO?

I'm currently trying to get the results using HB sim in ADS without much success. The power of the single tone RF input does not add up in the first place.... Any tutorials on SOM out there? :)
