It’s a hand made project of sliding gate, with mechanism. All elements were heated in furnace for central heating and bent in garage by bending machine using patterns ( also self – made). That’s the way I’ve made all fence. It took about a year, but satisfaction and costs were worth..
I was thinking about buying original drive, but finally I decided to make it. Firstly I ‘ve bought toothed bar. After some time I’ve bought control system “BRAMSTER” and then a problem have apeeared: what engine and transmission? I knew that engine should work with 12V. I started to search throught the internet. I need strong engine cause weight of the gate is about 400kg ( to placed it a need 2 friends). I found power steering engine from opel corsa. Used one was really cheap. Small changes in construction was necessary. I need help from lathe turner, I gave him a project and he made a slot for bearing, that I placed to space after tilting steering column. When I had finished all mechanism, I started to work with casing and engine mount, and I made test how fast gate is open. Time was good, about 15 seconds that is enough for me so next step was steering. I wanted to place power supply in the garage, to the engine put 12V. unfortunately 2,55mm wire is poor. Voltage decrees for about 50%, so I decided to put everything in the box near the gate. So far less voltage I solve by putting arm in bottom left part of box. Moving it into left cause resuming of toothed wheel from toothed bar and then sliding gate manually. I will buy UPS and put car accumulator there, cause my ups is to small. I made endings but still have to make thermo secure system. At the piles I put ir sensors.
