Doubts on SMT components in ADS

Sir,
Whatever the library it is given in the ADS2009 RF passive SMT library Capacitors. I have checked their part numbers data sheet in the internet, some part numbers it is showing that your search does not match( For example , I have taken AVX company capacitor 04031J0R1AAW). What about these RF passive SMT library Capacitors, Resistors , and inductors datasheets, their SRF,ESR values and graphs, where I can find this. Without graphs, SRF , ESR values , how can we proceed.

Sir,
I downloaded the modelthics SELECT v11.0 for ADS-windows(84mB) and installed it my system of 32bit pentium 5 processor, operating system of windows 7 ultimate,3GB RAM.
I am using ADS2011_10 , installed it on the C drive.Where I can find these library and how to get it appear in the ADS 2011_10 library.

Any Design Kit/Library has to be enabled separately for each workspace were you wish to use the parts. Just installing the PDK/Library on the system is not sufficient to use the parts in ADS.

With a workspace open open Files > Magage Libraries... and select the Add Library Definition File... button and browse to and select the lib.defs file in the Modelithics SELECT Library. Once you have added this library it should be available in the Read-Only Libraries sections in the Library View tab of the ADS main window or the ADS Component Library browser window.

Sir,
As you said, I did it. In the pallete component list of ADS2011_10,very few MODELTHICS library components models are showing(whatever ADS2011_10 pallette list, it is showing that is attached in the figures of MDLX SELECT v11.0_Library and MDLX SELECT(+)v11.0_Library_1).But in the MODELTHICS library web site, it is showing the many different companies CLR components, When I downloaded the Installer:SELECTv11.0 for ADS_Windows(84MB) and installed to the ADS2011_10(It is shown in the figure of MODELITHICS_Library) .In the Pallette component list, it is showing very few models.
How to get all components CLR models for ADS2011_10 as it is showing in the MODELITHICS library web site.

As it says on the page from which you posted the screen shot:

Modelithics SELECT
Free Sample of Modelithics COMPLETE Library, containing a selection of Global CLR™ models (capacitors, inductors and resistors) as well as some *X-parameters, non-linear diode and transistor models

This is a free sample trial library with a various different styles of models. It is not the full CLR library, different columns in the table you posted. If that is what you want you would need to purchase it from Modelithics.

Sir,
I need to purchase COMPLETE Library of Global CLR models latter. I requested trial version version for short period for checking MODELITHICS complete global CLR library.Latter MODELITHICS support technicians, they have shown the link for download Installer -SELECTv11.0 for ADS Windows(84MB). I downloaded trial version and installed it to ADS2011_10. Now it is showing very few components in the CLR library.
Will we not get full version of complete CLR global library in the trial version. If we get the complete CLR library, how to get complete CLR library in the ADS2011.

You may have requested the complete CLR Library but what you have is the Free Trial SELECT Library that only contains a few sample components. If you want Modelithics to provide you with the enitre CLR Library for no charge then you will need to negotiate that with them otherwise you will need to pay for it. No-one here on this forum can do anything to help you with that as only Modelithics can.

Sir,
In my circuit, instead of using MLIN, I am using SMD inductors. Is there any effect of SMD inductor to the circuit, instead of using MLIN.
Is there any problem of using SMD inductors in the circuit, instead of using MLIN.

RealAEL Sir,
I have installed Modelithics Exampler library to my ADS2011_10. Now I went to library and chose the JOHANSON company capacitor and try to place to schematic, it is showing the following error. It is not allowing to place the components from library to schematic
could not find the cell " CAP_JOH_0603_001_MDLXCLR1"in open library.
How to overcome this difficulty

Sir,
How to choose the components from the Modelithics library, I am confused to choose components. For example take Modelithics library inductor component of Coil craft company IND_CLC_0603_101_MDLXCLRCLC1, CLC_0603CS_L1. I have the following doubts on the previously said coil craft inductor

(1) For above said inductor, can we change our own values of inductor such as 180nH,220nH.....etc. For our own values of inductor, will modelithics model parasitic effect and other effect change it automatically. will it show effect in the simulation.
(2) How to identify the Part number of inductor of modelithics inductors, capacitors, and resistors.Usually vendor component part number changes, everything changes.
(3) If I change the tolerance value, it gives error. suppose I take market available 220nH coilcraft inductor , tolerance of +/-2% and case style of 0805. Can we change the tolerance of modelithics inductor, if we change that tolerance of modelithics inductor.will it show effect in the simulation.

If you read the User Manual all your questions are answered:

1. The User Manual says:

PART VALUE SCALING

The Modelithics CLR Library consists of Global ModelsTM, each of which is associated with a particular family of parts from a specific vendor. Each family pertains to a given body style (e.g. 0201, 0402, etc.) and typically covers component values over 2-3 decades (e.g., 1-1800 pF).

In a Global ModelTM, all equivalent circuit parameters, and therefore the parasitic effects, scale with the nominal part value. The use of a Global ModelTM eliminates the need to manually substitute individual models during a design sequence.

2. The User Manual says:

The nominal component value, e.g. in pF, nH, or Ohms. The full parasitic
model is invoked if the part value is within the valid limits of the model,
otherwise an ideal element model is used. A listing of discrete values
corresponding to component manufacturer part numbers is included with the
model data sheets.

3. The User Manual says:

Tolerance on the part value. The nominal value for this parameter should be
set to one (1). The statistics describing the distribution of the part value, as
specified by the component manufacturer, must be entered in order to perform
Monte Carlo and Yield type simulations. The statistical distribution parameters
must be entered as percentages and not as absolute measures.

That is for parts with 2% tolerance do not enter

Tolerance = 2

but instead

Tolerance = 1.0 stat{ uniform +/- 2 % }

or a suitable Gaussian distribution.

Sir,
I have taken MODELITHICS coil craft inductor(CLC_0805_CS_L1)of 180nH (SRF at 2GHz) and ADS2011 LIBRARY component COIL CRAFT INDUCTOR(sl_cft_0805CS_G_19950814) of 180nH.I have taken Modelithics CoilCraft of 180nH of 1% tolerance and ADS library coil craft inductor of tolerance of 2 %.
But when I have simulated the using both Modelithics same company and same inductor value and ADS inbuilt library inductor value . I found drastic difference in results of gain of low noise amplifier(LNA). When I connected Modelithics Coilcraft inductor of 180nH and got gain of 20dB, for same value of inductor 180nH and ADS SMT Inductor got gain of 16dB.
Why is the difference of same company coil craft Modelithics model inductor and ADS inbuilt library coil craft inductor of same value.
Which one result I have to trust, weather I have to trust on Modelithics model inductor or ADS Library SMT inductor. Really I am confused. Can make it clear.

You are not comparing like with like. Yes, they are the same device but the Agilent model is almost 20 years old now. Device and measurement technology have changed over the years and I am not surprized to see differences.

More significantly though the Modelithics model includes all pad parasitic effect with reference planes at the edge of the pad when you are using Sim_mode = 0. The Agilent model has no parasitics included and the reference planes are at the ends of the component itself. If you set Sim_mode = 2 on the Modelithics models or add suitable pad parasitics around the old Agilent models the results may give closer aggreement.

RealAEL Sir,
Obviously, if you are not there in this forum, really we are very much worried about the ADS,our all problems will be solved like anything due to presence of you in this forum. I am thankful to you.
Two more things I have noticed differences in the Modelithics model and ADS SMT components of Capacitors and Resistors.
When I used the Modelithics Murata capacitors of value 0.3pF and ADS SMT Capacitors of different companies of same value 0.3 pF and same tolerance, But I didn't find much difference in the results, while choosing both Modelithics and ADS SMT library capacitors.
When I used the Modelithics KOA resistor of 30 K ohm and ADS Library SMT Resistors of same 30K ohm or some other values resistors of Modelithics and ADS SMT resistors. When I used the Modelithics Resistors , there was not much noise figure added to my LNA circuit, almost it works as ideal. But When I added the same value of 30 K ohm and same tolerance of ADS SMT Libarary resistors, noise figure is added like any thing, but it didn't do any any effect on the other parameters of LNA such as gain, input , output ,and isolation losses, and stability, it only adding more noise figure to overall circuit of LNA.
Why they are not showing much difference for capacitors values of Modelithics capacitor model and ADS SMT library components capacitors.
Why they are showing much noise figure difference for Resistors values of Modelithics resistors and ADS SMT Library component resistors. Why ADS SMT resistors are not effecting other parameters such as gain, input and output return losses , and stability.
Can you clarify it.

Noise simulation is a separate analysis to other circuit measurements so difference in noise performance should not have any effect on the other results.

Without knowing more about the internal details of the different models it would not be possible to resolve the difference in noise simulation results. It is not possible to see this detail. For example what temperatures are configured inside the models or does the models have noise enable or disabled, resistors have a yes/no parameter setting to toggle this on or off. If inside the model the noise was turned off then the circuit would generate a lot less noise.
