Doubts on noise factor

We can calculate Noise Factor from the below equation, Noise Factor is as follows


F = SNRin / SNRout

F = Total output noise power / Total output noise power due to source

The above equation is used for calculation of Noise Factor (F).

My doubt is, what is the dimension of Noise Factor (F). According to me, it is a dimensionless , it does not have any dimension. Is it correct, can you clarify my doubts.
 

Yes, Noise Factor (F) is dimensionless, and always greater than zero because SNR at the output will always be smaller than the SNR at the input.
Noise Figure (NF=10*LOG(NoiseFactor) is represented in dB.
