We are planning to buy a SUN T2000 server to run synopsys and cadence tools. But I don't know whether these tools are compatible with T2000, and how about the performance comparing with X86 servers?

Sun workstation is more stable compared to x86 linux servers. But it is also more expensive. I have used SUN E3000 and E5500 years ago. There is no compatibility problem.
If there are comparable x86 linux servers (memory and CPU), I prefer x86 linux servers.
