Hi,

Check this link. This link has very good information on An Automatic Speaker Recognition System.

http://www.ifp.illinois.edu/~minhdo/teaching/speaker_recognition/

Go through it line by line and get better understanding. It also have few matlab functions available which should be used for voice recognition.
