diy transistor

I read homemade transistors posts and i found something interesting. I read that factories or home brewers pour chemicals on crystals and make transistors.
What happens if we coat crystal powders with these liquids or mix crystal powders with these liquids.
My mission is to build cheapest biggest - 30 centimeters wide - digital camera sensor .
At mit media lab , jacobsen print semiconductor liquids on plastic films and than heat to 250 celcius and make a slow cpu.
When you sum all , what do you invent ?

best ,
