Hi,

I have done the same thing but using pic microcontroller. You are welcome if i can help you any way.

hai,
cud u provide me with ur project details i am also thinking about d same concept but know confused how to start pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Added after 5 minutes:

i am also trying to impliment 100x100 led msg display using dot matrix. as i know very little with my knowledge i went upto 16x16. but know i m searching for interfacing components to connect 100 led rows to 8052 and related ram,rom for efficient design pls help me on this also....................

can u share here ur 16x16 project details.

Share on this too umery2k75@hotmail.com. I made this circuit too, but not with SMS. I made SMS and Matrix display seperately. It was good days playing with MCUs.

If you played with MCU's and made matrix display and a SMS send/receive module, than iy is easy to combine them together to display SMS's on display, isn't it?

If you made the scrolling display (without multiplexing) then your MCU has enough time to poll your mobile phone/GSM module for new messages and to display them on matrixdisplay.

On contrary, if you have a display that utilizes multiplexing (low cost system - bad brightness etc..) then it is another thing.

I prefer statically driven LEDs, through shifters, brightness control by PWM.

Maby, one day (must be in good mood ), I'll post the basic blocks for that kind of matrix display (thinkering for software implementation will be left to readers).

hi,
i completed only 16x16 display. i want to add sms display on a100x100 led display using dot matrix.pls guide me on interfacing 100 led rows to uc's.for 16x16 display i used shift register's for both row's & column's. but now i m searching for interfacing circuit to connect 100 led row's to 8 pin's of 8052 uc's.also guide me on sms display pls help it's urgent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi v_la,

if you completed the 16x16 as you wrote on 13 Jan 2010, post at least the schematic on the forum. 256 LEDs vs 10,000 LEDs is, almost 40x difference, and if you plan to connect them in a matrix, a tough nut for a poor uC .

First of all, you have to understand the principles of mooving/scrolling messages, if you want to implement your display that way, making it multi row. As I wrote on 13 Jan 2010 21:26, soon I will post hardware solution that I use in 8/16/24/32 bit height of the displays, so be patient.

Nothing is too urgent (except if your house is on fire)

hi zasto,
u told to understand the principles how? i said urgent coz i have to work on lot of things and i m stuck in basic step.pls send me details soon as im running out of time thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, let me put it this way:

If you cascade several "4094 MMSg.pdf" that I've posted, you will end up with several x 8 columns for a display. You need 8 data bits for each column to be displayed plus one pulse to shift the tata through 4096.
If you need more than 8 bits in HEIGHT, add another number of rows that you need (each row is asking for another 8 bits for data, or figure how to multiplex data and clock/latch signals).

hi im not clear with ur idea cud u give me detailed ckt diagram pls.....

More detailed circuit diagram and software are a commercial thing. If you need a complete project, please contact me by sending a PM (Private Message) with detailed wishes how you want the display to function, in return I'll send you the terms of business with my Bank Account and the sum that you should prepare.

Best Regards

sir if i wanted to buy d product i wud have buyed it here only instead of searching for d components.thanks for ur idea and also for ur reply.
regards
