diode simulation

hello, everyone
when i use spectre to simulation diode, chose junction model parameters, Level 1.
it is said that the effective area is equal to AREA · M, unitless. so does PJ, unitless?
what does unitless mean? if the area and junction perimeter are unitless, how can i sepcify the diode properties? should i specify area PJ as well as W and L?
thanks

diode area pj

as I know, cadence can't simulate the diode from analogLib.If if you want, you can write a veriloga view.
Or else you can choose a diode from a pdk provided by foundry.

hey, thanks for your reply
i have the diode library provided by foundry, the lib for hspice is LEVEL 3 and the one for sepctre is LEVEL 1, however i could not find any difference between the two LEVELs in terms of the parameters. and i have no pdk, we layout the diode by ourself as ESD protection devices.
what i am doing right now is setting the area and junction premeter, and multi-finger factor for spectre simulation (just normal operating conditions not for ESD condition). just the description in the hspice manual says the area and PJ in the LEVEL 1 are unitless, which really confused me.
any comments are welcome
thanks
