The main purpose of this device was to create a soldering station that can power Weller soldering iron WSP80.
The station uses Atmega8. The most problematic was to measure the resistance of the sensor which is in the range of 20-70ohm. Using lm334z you can measure with an accuracy up to approximately 1/4ohm through ADC. Transformer 60W 12V was used, so it takes about 50 seconds to heat up from 20 to 260 degrees Celsius. Temperature can be regulated in the range of 50-450 degrees Celsius through a potentiometer connected to ADC. The display has no backlight, but it is not necessary.

Elements used:
  • transformer
  • soldering iron
  • housing
  • display
  • Atmega8
