referanc of digital microwave

Could anyone out there please advice on what test equipments I'll need for maintaing a alcatel digital microwave (6-7GHz) and other brand name besides agilent..
1. Spectrum Analyzer - This week I've asked Agilent to quote me a spectrum analyzer and they are offering me an option that can lower the noise floor to -120db. Do I really need that option or I've to stick on normal features?
2. Freq. counter
3. Power meter
4. Signal Generator?
5. Sonet OC3 tester
6. HandPortable E1/X.21 BERT tester

thanks in advice.

You can check www.leasemetric.com (Europe) or www.testequity.com (USA) for prices of refurbished and new mesurement equipment. Just for mainteinance (if you don't want to do repairments by yourself) you don't need so many instruments. Rhode and Schwartz and Anritsu have hand-held spectrum analyzers that are suitable for your application and also can be used in power measurement mode. In normal conditions you do with signal level that is larger of -60 dBm, and if you can turn out modulation and observe just the carrier there is no problem even with lower end spectrum analyzers.
I think that in maintenance you don't need signal generator and, if you by spectrum analyzer with good reference oscillator, also frequency counter (1-2 ppm of error will not hurt you). If you have time to check all sites here is a list of (largest) manufacturers (perhaps Anritsu can be one-stop-shop for you, including digital line test equipment):

Advantest
Agilent
Anritsu
IFR (Markoni)
Rhode & Schwartz
Tektronix

Hi,

In Europe you can look for good quality second hand RF test equipment at the following companies (of course there are others too)

hxxp://www.rosenkranz-elektronik.de/webshop/

hxxp://www.mbmt.com

I have personal experience with both, the quality of the service is excellent.

agilent digital microwave

If you expect good technical support and communication between equipment and software (ADS/mathlab) for the equipment purchased, I advise you to consider Agilent. However the price is expensive.

Question:
1. What is your requirement for the 6 items?
2. Low noise floor also depends on application, if you are dealing with very weak signal (such as satellite communication), you will need that option.
3. You can own power meter and microwave counter in 1 unit solution, such as agilent 53147.

second hand microwave equipments in europe

thanks for alll your advice.
1. My requirements is good technical support and must have an office in China. Agilent fits all the requirements I'm looking.
2. Your right I don't need that option.
3. I think I'll go for your advice counter plus power meter from agilent.

thanks

Kowloon: You just started your project? Item 1-4 are very general RF equipment, you should have that equipment in your lab.

Upgrading?

Depend on your application, there is actually other models available. Since the link is very long, I have attached the selection guide for your reference
