Hello
We wish to signal from one micro to three others by opto's or digital isolator's, -we need the isolation because of ground bounce due to the proximity of several high power smps.
So which gives the smallest solution?
Which gives the solution with less sensitivity to higher temperatures?

There is no need for voltage isolation, its just that we are trying to get around the ground bounce

The signal speed must be taken into account. Optocouplers may be cheap, but they aren't fast.

Hi,

RS485/RS422 have common mode input voltage of +/- 7V. If i remember right.
If ground bounce is smaller you can use it.

Added: avago has a lot of optocouplers.
