Hi,

i have some doubts regarding design tools. can any one tell me what are the differences between different desigining tools(i.e)candance,pspice,hspice,spectre.which one is good at a particular area.how they are better than other desigining tools.can any expalin thier draw backs and thier advantages comparative to other tools.

thank you

pspice,hspice,spectre are analog simulation tools.
pspice is simpler than hspice.
spectre is candance's tool.

Hi,

thank u fro u r information, can u tell me which one is better for a particular area.suppose i would like to design a PLL.now i m using cadenceAMS(analog Mixed Signal),is it give same results if i use pspice ,hspice, spectre tools. how they are better than other.

I think what u want to know is not much electrical things...
Well software is evaluate by many different aspect. The reliability of it, how user friendly, how much scope is covered, how accurate it is and which is the latest technology.

Summing all, every circuit designer wanted a fast simulation tools, easy to use, easy to manipulate the data and parameter, contain the latest technology like BSIM4 parameters and last but not least it should be easy to use...

But usually it's hard to get all of these in one package..

p/s : They should pay those design automayion guys bigger salary i guest
