Sir/Madam,

I will be most grateful if someone could help me with regards to this question of mine, which has bothered me for quite sometime.

I am designing in cadence a LNA and Mixer and have worked out that for the sensitivity that I require I need an LNA with a Gain of 18dB and NF of 3dB & a Mixer with a Gain of -5dB and 10dB NF for a direct conversion using the Friis formulae.

Now if I wanted to work out Gain and NF requirements for a Differential LNA followed by a Quadrature Mixer/downconverter (direct conversion), then how would I work out the gain and NF requirement?

ie will all each LNA need to have the same gain and NF & will each of the four mixers need to have the same gain and NF with only a better dynamic range?

Thank you in advance
