Hi,

I saw some different plane types on web.
These are continuous, dedicated, or semi-dedicated.
I don't know what these types and uses.
can anybody help me?

Thanks,

Sounds more like a full plane and a partial or split plane.

A full plane covers the entire board, i.e. the gnd plane.
A split plane has different signals covering different bits of the board I.E. 3v & 5v rails on the power plane etc.

Dedicated? well all planes should be dedicated to a signal/reference voltage.

Found the reference **broken link removed** and its referring to VCC planes.

So split planes with different voltages on as opposed to a single voltage plane.
It is very unlikely that your going to be able to have a single power voltage with modern processors.

GND planes however should be single, continuous and without gaps/splits in them etc.

Marc will tell you more about this when he chips in :)
