What is the difference between max232 and rs232?where we will,use max232 and were we will use rs232

RS232 is a standard
and MAX232 is a IC used to convert the logics between TTL and RS232

for TTL high = 5V
low = 0V

for RS232 high = -13V
low = +13V

they are made to increase the transmission distance

For more refer wikipedia...

The RS-232 is simply a series of standards for serial data transmission, while the MAX232 is one of many available RS-232 standard compliant transceivers intended for implementing an RS-232 interface.

TI and others also offer a MAX232 equivalent device.

Main difference between two is the voltage levels of the rs232 are higher. In order to reduce those voltage means to convert those voltage levels to TTL logic levels we use max232 integrated chip which is a dual driver/ receiver.
read this :- https://sigma-shop.com/manuals/max232_manual.pdf

max232 = name of ic that is MAXIM 232

rs232 = standard name that is RECOMMENDED STATDARD 232
