Difference between inlet and line filter

Just wondering if there was a difference between this, or if they were the same thing.

Very elementary, but I am in the learning process.

Inlet filter, inlet line filter ...
Electrically speaking they are the same thing.
Sometimes line filter may be located on a ,say, pcb, whereas inlet (line) filter can be located close to the (IEC, or similar) inlet ...
