difference between four line UART and RS-232c

различие между uart rs-232

hi friends,

i would like to know the difference between a four line UART and RS-232c. can i use the Buffered serial ports in TI DSP's to communicate with a UART(4line) working on RS232 protocol without an RS232 transceiver
