Has anyone ever developed HDL on a PCI card with an FPGA? Also have you worked the Windows or Linux driver to get the card to work with a system?
Thanks

Re: FPGA PCI development

Thanks but the problem with this one is the driver and application are windows only and closed source.

Re: FPGA PCI development

I have developed PCI controller earlier and also used one from opencores!!
but somebody in our company developed the driver for linux!

so, what is the problem you are facing?

FPGA PCI development

I have ever wrote a PCI target core, use verilog HDL. I use DriverStudio to develop windows driver.

Re: FPGA PCI development

duoduo, can you show me some details on your design? Do you have a website?
According to the Compuware website, the DriverStudio product has been discontinued.

I haven't started yet, I was just wondering how difficult developing the driver and core would be for Linux.
How much code is there just to get data transfer into and out of the PCI device?

FPGA PCI development

I have design a PCI card which can work with Intel 845 chip mainboard, and i write the driver with Driver Studio 3.2.
By the way, Do the pci core from opencores can work perfectly?

FPGA PCI development

I assume they have been verified.

Re: FPGA PCI development

hi,
- ace make pc 3000 pci on xilinx spartan XC2S100 PQ208.
- on this board is also xc9572xl and PROm xc17S150ACP.
- all is working recovery HDD.

i have made a card used acex1k100 and plx9054.it works well.

Re: FPGA PCI development

Hi, I am a New member to this forum.
I had written few Kernel modules on 2.2 Linux kernel for PCI core testing (long time back), The company I worked for had developed the PCI core. I am no longer in Linux field but can help, let me know if you need help on Kernel modules.

FPGA PCI development

Two years ago I developed a PCI board and solved the driver problem by using WinDriver from Jungo (check www.jungo.com).

It took me about ten minutes to get it working.

Re: FPGA PCI development

Is there any one used the pci for ATA(PATA or SATA) interface?

Re: FPGA PCI development

i should say fpga likes the high level language, asic likes assemble language,
correct me if i am wrong.

Re: FPGA PCI development

heloo
do u hav pci code in verilo/vhdl..
can u mail it to me on swappy.best@gmail.com,.
or anything thing which you hav related to pci bridge....
its an my acadamic project

Re: FPGA PCI development

I have designed a PCI slave, which work with a power-PC.

But I didn't implemented the "retry" function.

Re: FPGA PCI development

hi !
i need the project doucumentation and specification of PCI...not from opencores.org plzzzzzzzzzz

thanks
