How to measure deterministic jitter in HSpice?
If you want to measure deterministic jitter, there is no direct way
to measure deterministic jitter using HSPICE currently . The best way
I can think of to do this would be to perform a transient analysis with
input sources that model the source of the jitter to be measured.
Deterministic jitter comes from signal interference such as cross talk,
simultaneous switching outputs, power supply noise, duty cycle
distortion, or inter-symbol interference. You could design input stimuli
for HSPICE to model these jitter sources, then measure the jitter based on the simulation results. A long transient analysis would probably be
required to make an accurate measurement.
Cosmos-Scope can be used to plot eye diagrams and make post-processing measurements to quantify the deterministic jitter.
