nec d7228ag lcd

I have an LCD taken out of an old (7+ years) nokia phone. I would like to hook the LCD up to a parallel port on my computer. I looked at **broken link removed**,which describes the hook up for a 14-pin LCD, but this one has only 12.

Description of the LCD:

*2x8 character blocks, plus some additional symbols at the top, bottom, and right side that can be lit up on the phone

*12-pin connection into the LCD (this is connected to the phone by a strip of plastic with metalic print and gold-colored pens at the end (I think this is the right description). There are actually 14 of the gold pins, but 2 of them stop there and don't go to the LCD).

*On the back there is a chip (NEC D7228AG), which the NEC site doesn't have a datasheet for.

What are these pens most likely to be considering the display? I can use any suggestions for the pens. Google wasn't of much help. Thanks.
