I would like assistance to know how can i detect a human passing by through a sensor on the ceiling. What kind of sensor can be helpful.

there ir motion detector available as a package.
you can use it for human detection.
but there is maxm distance limit .
check with the ir motion sensors available datasheet.

Hi,
simpler is a thermal or infrared "moving sensor" (some time callled "presence sensor" for automatic light switching on/off in a room)_is in really consume volumen produced & relative inexpensive...
