Hi Fusion,

Your welcome_Im waiting...
Greetings!
K.

Thanks Karesz

How can I estimate the required current by the FPGA ?

The mentioned currents:

1. +2.5V @10A
2. +1.5V @10A
3. +3.0V @500mA
4. +0.75 @3A

are measured for the maximum load of the FPGA on the SP605 board which consists of a lot of components that are connected to the FPGA so it will need this amount of current, But the board I am designing is a simplified SP605 board, so I think I will not need these current ratings ?!

My board will contain mainly:
FPGA + DDR3 + SPI Flash + USB/JTAG + DVI Tx.

What do you suggest ?

Hi Fusion,
I would say, you can calculate with so 4-6Amps(for 1.5 & 2.5V), but its ONLY FEELING!
You must search on Xilinx homeside for "Power Estimator" (or called similarly)!
With it you will become relative good/real values for your dynamic working system!!
Goodluck!

Hey,
Are you sure pls, that a notebook design with a dedicated processor (uP xyz) is the answer for a very special FPGA power consume!?
No; nee!
K.

yes ,it's ok for your design power consumption .
