Hi,

I have designed a pyramidal horn antenna having an antenna gain of 22 dB. Can a microstrip antenna be designed providing the same amount of gain, is it feasible to design microtsrip antenna due to much lighter in weight. If yes, which book you recommend for the design of microstrip antenna. Any link will be welcome
Regards

You can try a Microstrip Yagi, but would be hard to get a gain higher than 15dB. Depends by frequency and the dielectric.

hi as vfone say microstrip has low gain, but if u use array of 8*1 quasi yagi which one has 5 db,u can get ur result but all at cost and complexity
regards

use IE3D. in the examples directory you will find some microstrip antenna
arrays try them.

with microstrip 22db is quite complex but for better guidance refer John D Karus - Antennas.
