Hi all,
Can anybody help me out with a design methodology for designing a 2stage op-amp with single rail only (ie either of Vdd or Vss). the specs are.......
vdd= 4v ts=100ns cl=3pF output swing is 2v(pp) ad>50db unity gain buffer

can we design an op-amp using ONLY these specs??
plz reply
thank u.

U may check this topic , it may contain useful information.

There is a valueable chapter in Razavi analog book for OPAMP design, try to read it.[/url]

designing an OpAmp for single or symmetrical power supply is the same. Your methodology does not change.

To use a single supply the methodology is to bias at VDD/2 as non-inverting unity gain amplifier for DC and set the required gain and mode inv or non-inv for AC signals.

Yes you can design an op-amp using ONLY these specs.
Isn't it good to have loose specs? you can finish your job more easily ^_^

desisigning an op amp cct with single rail as ECRAZ said is to bias the non inv. input at 1/2vcc and set the gain through a feedback resistor to the inv. input.
