mini logic analyzer

Hello all,

I'd like to design a mini logic analyzer like the Rockylogic's ant16,
https://www.rockylogic.com/products/ant16.html
for the ant16 itself is too expensive for me (USD333) to buy.

The mini LA may be implemented mainly using a FPGA, and a USB chip, who have such experience? And how about its software design (Windows)?

BTW, is the ChipScope Pro (Internal LA) provided by Xilinx easy to use?

Davy Zhu

I would suggest to take a look at the open https://www.bitscope.com.

Btw, the chipscope is very easy to use. They provide a eval license for quite long.(3 months if i'm not wrong).

Hello dll_embed,

Thank you for your help, but the link h**p://www.bitscope.com you suggested seems to be dead, or it cannot be accessed from Asia?

Hi,

Which part of asia are u in? The website is still alive today. And below is some introduction from their website. The software is free and hardware is open.

BitScope is a high performance but very affordable digital PC oscilloscope and logic analyzer.

Available as a 2 + 8 input MSO or 4 + 8 networked DAQ BitScope leverages the power of your PC to create an integrated multichannel DSO Logic Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, multimeter and expandable data acquistion system in one low cost package.

Free software (for Windows and Linux) is available as well as programming manuals if you want to write your own. Many BitScope owners have already done this and some have published their projects. Its PIC based hardware design is open so you can see how it works.

The BitScope range continues to grow with network and USB interfaces, expansion pods and new models.

Whether you simply need a low cost replacement for your analog scope or a powerful analog and digital test and mesurement system, BitScope is the ideal choice !
