defining waveports in hfss

what is the best way to deifne waveports in hfss to obtain the optimum results. am desining a microstrip and changing the dimensions of waveport is changing the s parameters of the result. can any one tell me what is the correct way to decide the dimentions of waveport to get the actual result to be obtained in realtime.
