Hello:
I'm trying to simulate using FDTD the defect modes of a 2D Photonic Crystal. I'm using FullWave to plot the Transmission spectrum of this 2D PC with a defect.
In the FullWave manual, they have mentioned a method to find the resonant (defect) mode.
Please suggest source and detector parameters and placements. Currently, I'm using a Gaussian pulse to simulate.
Irfan: In your paper on " Investigation of Localized coupled-cavity modes ..." in the IEEE Journal of Quantum Elec., you have plots for the transmission spectrum using FullWave. Please can you tell me the source and detector parameters and placement that you used .
Also, did you first find the resonant wavelength and then simulate for the transmission using the resonant wavelength as the free space wavelength (or did you use this as your center wavelength for the Gaussian pulse).
Thanks,
V
