I'm a newbie in programming, need recommendations on debuggers for SUN Solaris 7/8. TIA.

gdb and ddd
very good and free

If you dev use sun Workshop (Forte or One Studio), you can use the build-in debugger.

I also use gdb+ddd . You may install the binutil from gnu. I found many tools leave their symbols in solaris/linux version. It make your debug work easily. You should install gcc + xpm as well for ddd to work. ptrace and ltrace are also helpful .
