DCM Boost vs DCM buckboost

Comparing these two converters.

Power input for dcm boost = L*I^2*freq

Power input for dcm buckboost = 0.5*L*I^2*freq



So we can see that the dcm buckboost needs a higher peak current to give the same power.

So why are there not more boost led driver chips around, with low value output current sense reference voltages?

do you agree the above two equations are correct?


....EDIT......sorry , obviously the boost one is not correct.
