hi everyone...

need circuit to build my own DC Power Supply (6V-12v). tq

You didnt specified the current requirements?
You also didnt specied the input voltage is it AC mains or Battery

Anyways Search for the voltage regulator ICs and usually the datasheets of the same have circuits also

well....the i/p voltage...from the AC mains...

well...i'm thinking of dc 6V-12V/2A power supply...

tq

thanks hani :)

thanks instruite & hani !

another question...

well, can anybody tell me basically what we need..i mean what factor should we consider b4 build a power supply (DC) besides current requirement, etc.
tq

Do you want to construct a variable power supply? i.e 6v, 9v, 12v?

You could use a transformer say: 240(mains)/15v and regulate this to 12, 9, and 6 volts using the appropriate regulatros i.e 7812, 7809 and 7806.

What's the current rating? I know of transformers capable of a maximum of 0.5A, 1A, 3A etc. I believe these should be available. To make a variable PS you might need a sort of switch to switch the transformer output to the desired regulator (just my own idea).

It all depends on what you want. Cheers!!

Hi,

To build a power supply you must select you desired Current limit ,
% line regulation , % load regulation

you can get this article : "ZENER DIODE VOLTAGE REGULATOR"
this article describes the basics on zener voltage regulators

thanks everyone :) really appreciate it.
