hi,

I want to design the DC Drive for jogging machine (90V/ 3Ampere).....

please help me

thanks

What is level line voltage you want to use (110V, 220V, 230V or ...)?
Did you need any control on the drive (speed control)?

If you want to use this drive with a 110V line voltage, without any control on it, you may use simply a half-wave diode rectifier. If this idea does not matches your need, please answer above questions and give more details about what you need.

thanks for ur reply

basically 220V AC line voltage.......

i used the firing angle control drive but i could not get the torque at loading condition that is why i am worried ......... i need masimum torque at loading condition on low speeds

the torque is not completely related to the drive. The motor must be able to generate that torque too. The rated voltage and current usually are written on the name plate of the motor or you may find them in the motor datasheet.

If the motor rated voltage is 90V and the terminal voltage is 90V too (when you think that the torque is less than what you need), it means that you must use another motor for this application.
If the speed is more that what you need and the torque is less than what you need, you should reduce the speed using mechanical methods (such as using gear-box), NOT electrical methods, because electrical methods reduce the speed and torque simultaneously.

Hope this help.

Hello

Use an chopper you can archive better results depending the constant of the motor and the freq of modulation.

Of course low speed you will have a little problem but you can have more torque at low speed.

Hi ashad,
I saw your tread and I have a same problem.
Did you solve your problem? How?
I have a 90V DC Motor 150W, and 220V AC sourse.
I would be so grateful if you can help me.
