I need some help deciding which algorithm to use for data compression on a DSP. I have been looking into algorithm used by winzip, 7-zip, zlib etc. And it looks like LZMA and Deflate could be the best algorithm as I see it. Deflate is fast at compression and LZMA has maybe the best compression there is. But I was wondering if anyone has tried to implement a data compression algorithm on a DSP, and if you have, what kind of algorithm did you use and why? I`m thinking that Deflate, maybe Defalte64 is the best choices. Any comments or return of experience?
