damaged compressed files

Hi,
I encountered the problem of damaged compressed files a lot of time..
Is there any way to extract partial data from a compressed file (.zip/.rar) that winrar or winzip is not able to read.. i hope someone will be having some tricks to do that too..

there are some tools available for that purpose. Trial versions can be found here:

http://www.RecoverMyFiles.com

Tip: Zip Repair Version 1.0 was a free tool some years ago, but works fine for ZIP files. It is no more available on the pages above, but can be found in the net.
