DAB ( Dual Active Bridge) normally used for bi-directional DC-DC power transfer. While operating in one direction it seems very close to PSFB.
Most of the circuits are not showing the LC output filter in DAB, I am wondering how close the DAB is to the PSFB in unidirectional sense? and where the output filter is embedded ? is it in the leakage and shim inductor?
Yes its the leakage inductor they use...which makes for bidirectionability, since you dont need the external inductor. The DAB has potential for severe reverse recovery in the fets though...so the following series diode can be added, like for the LLC.....
I am amazed at how many Half bridges ive seen that use no output inductor, but just the leakage inductor.....they always switch at 50% full duty, and just ON/OFF kind of thing to get regulation, or dont bother with regualtion.....and have a downstream regulator SMPS.
