Hi,

i want to design a simple current to voltage converter to take feedback of 1 phase ac motor current. Is there any basic idea and components that can help me to construct a I to V converter?
Please assist me..
i am using plc in project.i am having motor current at input side which works on 0-4.2 A .and i have to give to PLC 0-5 V.i can have current transformer...

Dear nandan007
Hi
It is simple , you can use a series resistor with your ground ( low value such as 0.1 ohms or ... etc ) and then you can amplify the voltage across it and then rectify it with a precise rectifier with an op amp and thus you'll have a DC voltage that has simple relation with your current .

can you show any circuit for this?

Sure , see below , please ( but after that , you can use a precise rectifier with opamp and then filter it , to earn a best fed voltage ( that has direct relation to your current ) :

Good luck

Would a transimpedance amplifier work in this case?

Dear frankqt
Hi
Why transimpedance amplifier ? can you explain your reason , please ?
I think with some simple circuits it will achieve .
