Hey everyone. Posting for the first time here about a problem I have.
I have a design that has a fan to cool it down. The design uses a pic18f mcu. I want to be able to read if the fan is working - or burned (The fan is always on, much like on a pc).
I really don't know what is the best method to do that - probably because I don't know how a burnt fan is reacting. Is there a chance of short-circuit or it just stops drawing current? - If anyone of you has any experience on this I'd like some feedback.
I've found same current sensing solutions that I think could do the trick - but these are made for reading the current in multimeters. I want something much simpler and a lower cost solution would be much better.
Do you have any better suggestions, or even with which ic should I proceed.
Thanks!
