hi,

do you know what is the non-switching supply current (ICC) of the NJM2673 bipolar, switch-mode, stepper motor driver IC ?.

NJM2673 DATASHEET:
NJM2673 STEPPER MOTOR DRIVER[Semiconductor Selection Guides[New Japan Radio]]

...or download NJM2673 datasheet from this site..

2shared - download NJM2673.pdf

I am referring to when the NJM2673 has VMM=36V and VCC=5V , but is not actually driving a stepper motor.

The top of page 5 of the datasheet says it has supply current ICC = 60mA,

-but it does not say how much current would be drawn when its not actually switching stepper motor coils.

There's a diagram on page 11. It says, typical supply current is 35 mA with maximum motor current and 30 mA with no motor current.
