Hi All,
I am designing a second generation current conveyor . I want to measure resistance and capacitance at Y port? Does anybody have idea how to do it? More specifically I am interested in finding resistance vs frequency curve.
Connect a unit current source with ac magnitude=1 and any frequency between your output and gnd (separated by a large cap, e.g. 1F, in order not to short-circuit the DC output voltage). Then run an ac analysis, sweeping the frequency between your points of interest. The voltage at the output (i.e. over the isin source) is your frequency-dependent impedance: z = v/i . With i=1 , e.g. MV ≙ MΩ. From the low frequency part of the magnitude curve you can deduct the resistive part of the impedance, from the high frequency part you can get the reactive, i.e. the capacitive part.
Don't forget to bias the circuit to a reasonable operating point!
