Hi everyone,

I'm new to CST so I'm confused by it's boundary settings. It seems that the boundary can only be set at 1-20 wavelengths away from my model. How can I select a surface in my geometry and set it to be a PML boundary? Otherwise I guess the wave will be reflected in my model and won't be absorbed.

You can use open boundary, not open (add space). The open boundary extends the touching geometry virtually to infinity by using a perfectly matched layer (PML) boundary.

Thank you so much!

Sorry but I still have a problem: after setting the boundary to open, it seems that the boundary is a smallest cube containing my model, because it use xmin, ymin, etc. But my model is actually a column, so there's area between my model and the boundary. Does this still work?
